Advanced warning – A421 Closure

The A421 between Finmere and Mixbury will be closed for HS2 works from 6am on Saturday 24 June until 6am on Monday 26 June.

The Diversion Map shows the section of road which is closed.

Flywheel at Bicester Heritage – one week to go!

Flywheel takes place next weekend (17 and 18 June) and there are still a few local resident 30% discount tickets available.
 
The local residents’ discount code is: BristolBlenheim.
 
Bicester Heritage would love to welcome as many local residents as possible to take part in their celebration of wings, wheels and motion which will feature demonstrations on the Experience Track, Fly-ins from vintage aircraft, and themed displays curated around the site.
 
All enquiries should go directly to community@bicestermotion.com for any questions or concerns.
 
There is also a specific telephone number if you need to contact the organisers during the event – 07984 326785
 
They look forward to welcoming villagers to the event!

A4095 Road Works

You may have seen the matrix signs around Bicester warning of major works along the A4095 from 3 April.

SSE is starting work on Skimmingdish Lane at the electricity sub station on Monday 3 April for the installation of a new 33KV cable to supply the NW Bicester development.

Work will continue around the ring road with traffic lights,  finishing with a temporary closure of Howes Lane from 24 July until the end of October.

All work is expected to be complete by 29 October 2023.

OCC – Area weight restrictions engagement

Oxfordshire County Council is inviting local stakeholders to share their views on where there are existing or potential future challenges with inappropriate Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) movements so that the information can be used for a study of the issues.

Further information about the activity which runs from 10 March until the 10 April 2023 can be found on the OCC website at https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/area-weight-restrictions
