Honouring Firefighter Jennie Logan

13/06/2025 by Caversfield Parish Council

A message from Bicester Fire Station:

This Saturday, 14 June, we will pay tribute to our colleague and friend, firefighter Jennie Logan with a funeral procession.

10AM Banbury Road to Queen’s Avenue

Jennie’s cortege will travel from Banbury Road to Bicester Fire Station, where a minute silence will be held in her honour. The procession route will be lined with firefighters and our emergency service partners.

We invite you, our community, to support us and view Jennie’s procession along this route. If you wish to support from Queen’s Avenue, we ask for you to stand on the opposite side of the road to our fire station. Your presence will mean so much to us and Jennie’s family and friends.

Please be aware that to support Jennie’s procession, local road closures will be in place from 09:30. Check @OxonTravel on ‘X’ for travel updates on the day.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we honour our colleague.

RAF Croughton Exercise

02/06/2025 by Caversfield Parish Council

A scheduled military training exercise will be taking place at RAF Croughton on Friday 6th June between 8.30am and 4.30pm. This exercise is part of routine preparedness training and is not related to any immediate threat or emergency.
During this time, an increased presence of military personnel, vehicles and equipment as well as the use of simulated gunfire, simulated explosions and activation of the ‘loud voice’ tannoy system may be noticed around the RAF Croughton area.  The voice is usually just in operation on the base, but it may be tested as part of the exercise.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Bicester Motion Fire

16/05/2025 by Caversfield Parish Council

Members of the Parish Council and the wider community of Caversfield have been shocked by the dreadful fire which unfolded on Thursday 15 May at Bicester Motion.

The Council wishes to express its condolences and deepest sorrow to all those affected by the tragic event.

It is recognised that people may wish to pay their respects to those who have tragically died. We would be grateful if those wishing to lay flowers lay them in Garth Park, Bicester rather than at fire stations or at Bicester Motion to avoid obstruction to the highways.

The park is open 7.30am – 9pm. From Monday, people can also sign a book of condolence at Garth House (Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday 9am – 4pm).

Complaints about engine noise on the airfield should be reported to Cherwell District Council.
