Parish Council Meetings

The Parish Council has received Janet Zanin’s resignation as a Parish Councillor.

The Council would like to thank Ms Zanin for her valued contribution to the village.

The resignation means that the Parish now has a vacancy. The Election Office at Cherwell District has been notified and the notice has been issued.

If an election is not called by ten electors within 14 working days (by 20 August), the Council will be able to co-opt at a future meeting.

The Parish Council considered the detailed budget and the Precept request (the amount the Parish Council requires for meeting the expenses of running the Council) for the year 2024 / 25 at the meeting on 17 January.

The budget of £11,734 for the year 2024/25 was agreed.  This took into account the range of Parish responsibilities including grass cutting on Skimmingdish Lane and Fringford Road and weed spraying Fringford Road, the dog bin emptying, meeting costs, saving for replacement street furniture, starting a road safety fund and reserves.

The Parish had been given the Tax Base figure (broadly, the number of Band D equivalent dwellings in the village) by CDC which was estimated at 565.4; this was an increase from 561.7 the previous year.

Following the calculations, it was agreed to increase the Precept to £9,524 which was an increase of £1,520.  The annual cost to a Band D household would be approximately £16.85 – an increase of £2.60 over the whole year.

However, it is worth noting that the Band D equivalent for a resident of Bicester for 23/24 was £137.20.

The agenda for the additional planning meeting to consider planning application reference 24/00245/OUT at South Lodge, Fringford Road, OX27 8TH with the proposal for “Outline application for demolition of existing structures and erection of up to 99 dwellings, access, open space and associated works with all matters reserved except for access” is now available on the Parish Council website at https://caversfield-pc.gov.uk/parish-council/agenda-and-minutes/2023-2024-agenda-and-minutes-of-meetings/

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 21 February at 8.15pm at Launton Parish Hall.
