The Parish Council was pleased to welcome and co-opt Terry Williams as a Councillor at the September meeting, so there is now just one vacancy.
Would you like to join the Parish Council and help make decisions about how the Parish is run?
The Parish Council is the first tier of Local Government representing the local community, delivering services to meet local needs wherever possible, and improving quality of life and community well being. We try to work with the many Management Companies in the village together with the MoD for the benefit of all. We also have links with the District and County Councils and other agencies.
Come along to the next meeting on Wednesday 15 November to see what the Parish Council does, have a look at the minutes and agenda and round the website. More information about the vacancies is available in the Councillor Advert November 17
You can also read a guide on what Parish Councillors might be expected to do (although this is very broad and covers all Town and Parish Councils, so don’t be scared!) in the Good Councillors Guide
There are a few criteria you must be able to comply with:
To qualify a person must be a British subject, over 18 years old and an elector; must reside within Caversfield or within three miles of it, or occupy as owner or tenant any land or premises therein, or have their principal or only place of work there, and must not be disqualified from holding office as a Councillor.
If you would like to join us, let the Clerk have a brief CV and explanation about why you would like to be a Councillor by Friday 15 September and your application will be considered at the next meeting.
