Following the resignation of Eleanor Booth-Davey, there are now two vacant seats on the Parish Council.
One can be filled at the meeting on 21 July and the other is likely to be available for the September meeting – once we have received confirmation that an election isn’t required.
The Parish Council needs Councillors in order to function.
The Parish Council is the village’s voice on planning and we also have a liaison role with the MoD and the various management companies and groups around the village. With fewer Councillors, it is much harder to make the village’s voice heard.
There may even come a time, if villagers are not interested in putting themselves forward, that the Parish Council will have no option but to merge with another area.
